Ultrasonic Liposuction

Ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL) is able to gently liquefy fat without injuring adjacent structures. UAL allows safer removal of larger amounts of fat, usually with less blood loss, less bruising, and less tissue trauma. This technique can also remove fat in areas that were previously unable to have liposuction such as the back, upper abdomen and male breast.

Ultrasonic liposuction may be the best option for:

• Patients with larger amounts of fat and less elastic skin tone
• Heavier patients, however, obese patients with medical contraindications are not candidates

Small suction tubes are inserted through very short incisions placed in inconspicuous locations near the fat deposits, and excess fat is removed.

You will be given a compression garment to wear over treated areas for about one month to reduce swelling and hasten final results. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Bruising and swelling usually subside within two to four weeks.
